August 2013 - Bikers 4 Orcas founded

After visiting a marine park in The Netherlands, Vincent Lensen set up an organization that would use the image of bikers and the sound of their motorcycles to attention to the horror of keeping killer whales in captivity.
Bikers 4 Orcas was created!

August 12, 2013 - promo video

The first promo video for Bikers 4 Orcas was created. You can check out the video here.


August 29, 2013 - promotional work

Handing out flyer's in the city of Utrecht (Netherlands) and telling people about the upcoming movie "Blackfish".
While some people refused to even talk to us, others took the time to listen and signed our petition form.

September 1, 2013 - shirts

Thanks to a company called "IMAGO 365" we were now able to have people world wide to wear our logo and so promoting us.


September 14, 2013 - Canada joins

Canada was one of the first countries to have a Bikers 4 Orcas "pod".
One of the first things they did was promote us at the big biker event in Port Dover.

September 15, 2013 - rides

In September we had 15 locations for the first "Ultimate Ride To Freedom". In the end only around 8 locations world wide actually happened.


October 16, 2013 - planning the ride

The start and end locations for the ride in Holland were found. We would start at the orca statue in Spakenburg and end at the "Dolfinarium" in Harderwijk.

October 30, 2014 - Blackfish

Bikers 4 Orcas was invited to the premiere of "Blackfish" in Amsterdam. Of course we were sure to promote our organization at the event. A flyer was created with information on Bikers 4 Orcas and other organizations and promoting David Kirby's "Death at SeaWorld". The flyer read "You are going home now... They remain in captivity".


November 5, 2013 - premiere night

Blackfish had it's premiere night in Amsterdam. After the screening we met up with cast member and ex trainer Samantha Berg. Samantha has been a big supporter of Bikers 4 Orcas early on and was very happy to receive one of our shirts.

November 28, 2013 - coloring sheets

Early on we created coloring sheets for people to hand out at schools so kids could show in their own way that they were against captivity.
We received tons of these in the mail and presented them to Ingrid Visser at Morgan's appeal in Den Haag (Holland).


December 3, 2013 - Morgan's appeal

To support Ingrid Visser in her fight to get Morgan free we travelled to Den Haag (Holland). Though Ingrid did her best to get the young orca free the court later decided that she would be kept in captivity at Loro Parque (Tenerife).

December 16, 2013 - cancel

For 2014 SeaWorld had planned a Bands, Brew & BBQ event. All anti captivity organiszations (including Bikers 4 Orcas) joined forces in getting the bands that were booked to cancel their show. On December 16 the band .38 Special was the 8th band to do so. A great victory!


January 19, 2014 - Skoda

Skoda released a commercial for one of their new cars that showed a family leaving a marine park holding a captive orca. Bikers 4 Orcas asked their followers to write Skoda and tell them to stop showing the commercial. After having success in The Netherlands, on January 19 the commercial was also changed for Portuguese TV.

March 6, 2014 - getting ready

Every organizer was working hard to make their ride special. Poster were being spread, banners were being created and even candy with our logo was made. Victor from Switzerland managed to get a load of free shirts to hand out to the bikers that joined his ride.


May 11, 2014 - growing

Bikers 4 Orcas was still growing fast and more and more people started showing us their support. All over the world people wearing our shirts were popping up. Melissa Berke had hers on when meeting Paul senior from OCC.

June 14, 2014 - The Ultimate Ride

The first "Ultimate Ride To  Freedom" was on this day. On multiple locations world wide bikers would get on their motorcycles and ride for the orcas held in captivity. The USA, Canada, Spain, Germany, Holland, South Africa and Switzerland all took part.


June 24, 2014 - newspaper

After the USA, Bikers 4 Orcas was now mentioned in an South African newspaper. Organizers Marilia Lopes & Tricia Davis got their pod in the media.

August 20, 2014 - an orca honeymoon

On august 20, founder Vincent Lensen got married and left for a honeymoon to British Columbia, Canada to spend a week on a remote island with his wife and wild orcas.


September 4, 2014 - 5000 likes

Since the start of Bikers 4 Orcas the organization has been growing fast. New people find their way to our facebook page all the time and on September 4 we have 5.000 likes.

October 27, 2014 - a new design

A new design made for bikers was created for merchandise. Right from the start it became popular and people asked for shirts and hoodies with the new design on it.


November 5, 2014 - Wildcoast

Bikers 4 Orcas makes a deal with Wildcoast Adventures. Every supporter of the organization gets a 10% off deal when booking an orca trip with Wildcoast.

December 9, 2014 - new organizers

New people step up to organize a ride in their country for 2015. While some have a hard time actually doing so 3 people from South California make a big impression. The "SoCal" pod of Anais Fantini, John Christopher and Lisa Adler grab any chance for promoting Bikers 4 Orcas.


January 16, 2015 - march

Bikers 4 Orcas SoCal join in on the Miracle March for Lolita.

March 13, 2015 - Phinfest

... And on March 13, Anais Fantini visits Phinfest where she meets up with Howard Garrett from Orca Network.


April 28, 2015 - the 2015 ride gets closer

With only two months left until "The Ultimate Ride 2015" all organizers are working hard to get preparations done. A new promotion video was created to promote the event. You can watch the video here.

May 14, 2015 - Orcas Stories

Founder Vincent Lensen releases his book called "Orca Stories" (available for free on this website).


May 22, 2015 - Holland catches on

After nearly 2 years Dutch media notices Bikers 4 Orcas. Vincent Lensen & Rianne Brouwer give their first interview for a local newspaper. Having done interviews in the UK, Canada, USA and Spain this is a personal victory for the founder of the organization.

June 6, 2015 - Empty the Tanks

Members of Bikers 4 Orcas world wide join in on the "Empty the Tanks" protest that is being held all over the world.


June 9, 2015 - joining forces

Only a few weeks before the ride. Holland & Germany join forces once again and have planned a ride together. German pod leader Ralf Voight brings his bikers over the Dutch borders and teams up there with Vincent Lensen. Together they ride to the "Dolfinarium" in Harderwijk. All bikers get a special patch to remember their ride.

June 28, 2015 - The Ride 2015

"The Ultimate Ride 2015" takes place world wide. Pod leader that had taken part in 2014 see a growth in participants and new leaders leave a big impression. Though some rides had to be canceled, 2015 was a success!


July 31, 2015 - Superpod

Bikers 4 Orcas is invited to join the superpod event. This event happens once every year and brings together orca enthusiasts as well as scientists and ex trainers. Several Bikers 4 Orcas pod leaders joined in on the event.

August 2015 to present - new plans

New rides are being planned, new people will join, more history will be made. We are currently VERY busy working on new ideas and events.
